Community Violence Interruption and Prevention Initiative RFP Coming Soon!

Stay Tuned! The LCCL will release a Request for Proposal (RFP) in the coming weeks for a Community Violence Interruption and Prevention Initiative (CVIPI).  Through a competitive RFP process the LCCL will select Community Partners (sub grantees) who will focus on two Community Violence Intervention & Prevention Initiative models. The first will employ violence interrupters and outreach workers who are skilled in intervention and supporting people on their change journeys. The second will promote collaboration and communication with public safety and public health entities. The LCCL will facilitate the development of a robust working relationship between CVIPI Community Partners and local government agencies, specifically focusing on law enforcement and public health organizations. Outcomes will focus on participants reporting a decrease in experiencing or witnessing violence, a decrease in behaviors or actions that lead to violence, and an increase in their well-being and quality of life as well as other program related measures.

The initiative design will take a place-based approach and concentrate on the counties of Adams, Arapahoe and Denver, Colorado due to the high rates of violence.  It is anticipated that the initiative will fund 3 sub-grants to eligible and successful proposers. The subgrantee must serve at least 150 eligible participants over a 30-month period and enrollment should be complete by the 27th month to ensure eligible participants receive at least 3 months of services.  The average sub-grant award will be up to $200,000 per 15-month period based on program and budgetary performance as well as compliance for a total of up to $400,000.

Request for Proposals Coming Soon!

The LCCL has not yet launched a Request for Proposal for this project. HOWEVER, we’ve developed potential questions for organizations interested in applying to begin to think through. Please note that we can not guarantee that these questions will be the same ones asked in the RFP, but thinking through these questions now should help you get ready to respond when it is released.
